Ran across an interesting photo technique. Evidently the photographer takes two exposures on the same frame of film, one in the day and one at night. I like the effect.
Austin officially kicked ass! I got some work stuff done, and also got to sample some of Austin’s local flavor.
Flash Forward was amazing. It was interesting to hear and see the rockstars of the flash and interactive world present their ideas. My two favorite sessions were polar opposite, but both very engaging: how to render 3d elements into a 2d (for web) and using genetic algorithms to inspire creativity.
Austin City Limits was also a great time, I saw more bands in two days than I have the past 2 years. John Mayer, Willie Nelson, Guster, Iron and Wine, The Raconteurs, Massive Attack, and Gnarls Barkley to name a few.
I ate more Tex Mex than was appropriate, and drank fewer Margaritas than I wanted. I could not stand the heat. I can’t handle breaking into a serious sweat walking 20 feet from the lobby of the hotel to your running air conditioned car.
More pics and stories from Austin to come!
Special thanks to Shag and Bohnet for playing host!

I have been bouncing around the Flash Forward Conference in Austin for the last few days. One thing I have noticed is the amazing amount of Mac Book Pro’s in circulation. What I didn’t expect was to see how many people are running Windows on their Macs.
Are Macs running windows the new Black?
This review of the 2006 Burning Man Festival is hilarious, and clearly points out all the reasons I have never had the desire to attend.
My list of daily read blogs has gotten stale. I need new interesting sites. Can any one help me? What sites do you read on a daily basis?
I want to get more focused on new technology, design, and interesting marketing blogs.
Help!
I just arrived in Austin for the Flash Forward conference. I am excited to see some cutting edge Flash design.
I am also stoked to check out Austin. For some reason, ATX is regarded as friggin’ awesome by everyone that I mentioned this trip to. Common Austin stereotypes, great bar scene, amazing weather, friendly people, blossoming downtown and amazingly attractive women.
Lets hope its true.
I ended up driving in circles looking for my hotel in Austin which led me to this question:
Would the incremental cost of a dope GPS navigation unit actually save money in the long run?
Todays example:
My hotel was about 8.7 miles from the Airport and should have taken about 18 minutes. Instead I drove at least triple that amount due to missed exits and a terrible map from Alamo.
A GPS navigation system would have guided me directly to the door of my hotel. The car would have had 1/3 the wear and tear and I would have had a positive experience instead of a frustrating one.
Increasing the longevity of your rental fleet while adding value to your customer… sounds like a good business case to me.
Dance Dance Revolution for your fingers. I got to lever 10 on my first try.
