Life 3.1

Life 1.0 was a Beta release. You lived with your parents tried some new features and ultimately had no responsibility.

Life 2.0 was your college education. You pulled together your learnings from the beta release and launched yourself to the world. You arrived amongst cheers of congratulations at your cleverness. A lot of things worked out. Some didn’t. Your revenue model was non existent. Most of your time was spent worrying about the future but focusing on the present.

Life 3.0 started at your congratulations for concentrating enough to actually graduate party. 3.0 is your interim period between school and a career. Some people get stuck at 3.0 and then skip right to version 4.0 (Marriage or kids- not reccomended). Me? I just got to 3.1, a real “career”.

So far 3.1 has been good to me. I moved to LA, got serious about work, visited Alaska, Vegas, NYC, and Phoenix in my first 6 weeks on the job. I miss Montana, but I guess thats par for the course.

Who knows what the next version will bring… all I know is that it could happen at any moment- and that’s the best part.

Apple Store

I was shocked to run across the Apple Store employees on the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica wearing this shirt. I guess brilliant minds think alike.

In other Apple news, I got an Airport Express. I was debating whether it was worth the extra bling compared to a more typical Linksys or Netgear router and the answer is… YES. This thing rocks. It took about 5 seconds to set up and works like a charm. I can plug my speakers directly into it and stream music wirelessly from my laptop to my stereo. It also supports USB printing via the home wireless network. It is also so small I can bring it on the road… now every hotel with broadband will have wireless for me!

April Fool’s Day

Saturday, April 1st, 2006

Hello party people! Pardon the interruption in posting, but lately the last thing I want to do is stare at a computer after staring at a computer at work for 11 hours.

In any event things are good. My job pays me to geek out which is great. I am working on some interesting projects that allow me to interact with all aspects of the company.

April should prove pretty crazy, look for more updates this month.

Here is a solid link to get you April Fool’s Day started right.
