I needed clothes for tonight in Hermosa Beach.
Genius!
Things are great in Santa Monica! I can’t believe I have only been down here for about 10 days- it seems like month!
So far I have been out many, many nights, frequenting some sweet spots like Ma Kai, Voda, Library Ale House, James Beach, and the Beanery. I drove north up the coast, went to an University of Montana Alumni function, and surfed.
Gotta hop in the shower… dinner in an hour. Bling!
My apologies for the long absence from my blog posting- it has been a crazy few weeks. Let me get you up to speed.
Two Tuesdays ago I got my offer letter to come work down in Santa Monica. I was instantly stoked and stressed since my boss wanted me to be at work the next Monday. T-Minus 6 days.
Packing week was crazy and included nights out at Silver Star, The Marysville House, Toi’s Thai, and of course the last home cooked meal out at the parents house. Thanks to everyone that came out to see me before I bounced. I appreciate it- ya’ll made leaving MT even harder.
After packing/throwing everything into the spare bedroom at Casey’s house, I got some bad news- the movers would be unable to come until Monday. Luckily Hutch took off work on Monday morning to meet the movers, and make sure everything went smoothly.
Packed and ready, I hit the airport on Saturday afternoon. Wendy, Marissa and the family were there to send me off, which was awesome. After getting searched cause I forgot to take my Leatherman out of my computer bag I hopped on the plane.
Unfortunately the the plane was covered in ice so after boarding we had to wait 40 minutes to de-ice the plane. I got to Seattle with about 5 minutes to spare and sprinted to my connecting flight to LAX. Bad luck struck again, and we had to wait about an hour and a half on the plane while the mechanics replaced a faulty computer. I got to LA and the baggage carousel broke so it took forever to get my bags.
I hopped a shuttle to Avis, got a car and headed to my apartment. My landlord met me and showed me around and poof- I was living in LA.
I got a job! It starts Monday in Santa Monica.
I would be stoked if you showed up at my last supper, tonight, Wednesday @ 7 at the Marysville House.
Give a call or leave a comment for directions/details.
Cheers!
