Island Time

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005

Island time, or better yet Montana time has taken over my life. Besides making sure I make to to our soccer games on time, I pretty much just go with the flow. I wake up when the sun shines in my room, get a bite, head to Casey’s house to get some work done online, hit the lake, and usually eat dinner at around 10pm when we get off the water.

I can definitely say my stress levels have fallen considerably since my return to Montucky. Island Time does not suck.

So Serious.

More pictures from the frontlines of Helena wakeboarding, Nate and Papu getting serious.

Too bad the storms are rolling through again today- no riding (insert sad face here)

Hail Mother Nature!

Monday, June 27th, 2005

Northern Helena just got pounded with one of the strongest hail storms I have ever seen. At least an inch of 1cm sized hail fell in less than 15 minutes. The street in front of Casey’s house was almost completely flooded.

Of all the days to leave the camera at home… doh!

WordPressDash

Monday, June 27th, 2005

Special thanks to Dave for pointing the direction to WordPressDash, a widget that is actually useful*.

*note: not that the dashboard is not usefull, but it seems to me that most widgets that come stock with with Tiger suck. Clicking over to the Dashboard and then waiting for the weather to load is not more efficient than going to http://wunderground.com. The widgets should be more interactive, ie if I double click on a day in the weather widget, it will load up the days details, or at the least tell me the average high and low and chance of precipitation.

I realize widgets are supposed to be super simple, but make them super usable as well.

Mermaid Parade

Evidently the New York city Mermaid Parade was the go to event for the weekend. Sara mentioned it in her blog and a completely unrelated site:Joe’s NYC Photo Blog had posted pictures of the parade as well.

Weather or Not

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

I hate to jinx it, but Mother Nature has finally decided to bless us with some summer. In honor of the occasion, I have thrown together a quick gallery of some of my shots of the crazy weather that has been plauging Helena since my return.

Good Day!

Papu feeling the spot

Today was a good day. Its been a while since pretty much everything has gone right. Work has been a struggle the past few weeks, contacts taking forever to get back to me, and general pain in the butt-ed-ness all around. Today things finally clicked and tons of things that have been in a holding pattern finally clicked into place. Sweet.

As you might have gathered, the weather in Helena has been HORRIBLE. Well OK, not horrible, but definately non-cooperative to say the least. The sun finally came out and H-Town almost made it to 90 degrees. Needless to say we had to get the boat on the water, so Tim and I rallied up Papu, Pez, Timmy and Kasha to for an evening surf. It turned out to be one of the best days ever- flat water and tons of new tricks getting thrown. Pez threw her first with the rope 360, Tim managed to get a one knee-ed stall and generally shredded up the wake, and I stuck a with out the rope 360.

We headed back to the homestead for some burgers, hot tub, and billiards. Timmy racked ‘em up and I made the 8 ball on the break!

A perfect end to perfectly solid day.

The Lake and the Weather

After coming from disconcertingly perfect weather in LA, Mother Nature has been slapping around the Montana since my return. Every time we get out on the lake a crazy storm system blows in and sends us scuttling for the shore. Luckily the house is only 5 minutes from the dock, so retreating to and afternoon BBQ is super convenient.

I don’t remember seeing so many white cloud bursts in June. Typically the white storms are reserved for snow fall.

All of these pictures are from different days this week.

Finally got out on the water yesterday. After raining ALL DAY the clouds finally stopped puking enough for Simon, Jeremy, Helmet, Myself and the kids to get out on the water. All I can say is flat water is worth freezing your ass of for. Air temp was about 45 and water temp was 58-60.

P.S. The new BSBS Malibu is FRS!
